A few geeky movies.

Here’s a short list of a few of my favorite geeky movies.  It’s by no means a definitive or complete one.

  • Star Wars – 1977 The original, Episode IV if you must. The one that started it all.
  • Blade Runner – 1992 A gritty tale of rogue androids and a man tasked with hunting them down.
  • Night of the Living Dead – 1968 George Romero’s zombie classic.
  • Akira – 1988 Biker gangs and secret military projects in Neo-Tokyo. One of the greatest animated movies of all time.
  • Tron – 1982 From Disney studios.  What’s cooler than actually being sucked in to a computer game?
  • Brazil – 1985 Terry Gilliam’s twisted future tale.
  • Time Bandits – While we’re talking Terry.  A young boy accidently joins a band of dwarves as they jump from time-period to time-period looking for treasure to steal.
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail – 1975 Let’s stay on the Brit theme.  The tale of King Arthur and his knights, with a bit of a twist.
  • The Matrix – The first one, just the first one, stop right there and go no further.  I’m warning you, you’ll regret it if you watch the other ones.

I could go on and on, and perhaps I will in a future post.
